My name is Amy Coffman and I am a 2013 graduate of Butler University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to begin my teaching career at Wallace School of Integrated Arts. Over the past 4 years, I have developed a strong belief in the arts approach and have seen the benefits it provides to a variety of learners. I have also learned a lot about myself through this approach to teaching and I am excited to see how I continue to grow as an educator by teaching through the arts!
I grew up in the small and rural town of Morgantown, Indiana, where I spent my childhood exploring the outdoors, fishing, and farming with my grandparents. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, running, yoga, and hiking.
There is nothing more rewarding to me than seeing the impact I can make in children’s lives. I know that every child is capable of so much and I believe that by creating a safe and positive learning environment; my students can develop into creative and life-long learners!
